About the job
Care Assistant required
Are you the Personal Care Assistant I am looking for?
I need someone with excellent communication skills who is also confident, motivated and empathetic in order to help me live my life to the full, with my family and two elderly dogs.
I have lived with a spinal injury for over 25 years and this has given me the determination to live my life to the fullest. I am a wheelchair user and have very limited use of my hands.
In the last 3 years I have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and my short term memory can be poor. Therefore, I require prompting with fluids and food throughout the day.
I love watching sports on the TV such as snooker, rugby, golf and tennis. I have keen interest in my garden and like to enjoy as much time in there as possible when the weather allows.
I love to read on my kindle, fantasy and adventure books are my particular favourite. I enjoy good food and an ability to assist with meal preparation would be essential. My wife generally takes the lead with meals but there are times during holidays and family visits where you will be required to do this.
We enjoy holidays throughout the year for approximately, one week at a time, which we would like you to join us for. There will also be a requirement for you to drive me in my vehicle, which has been adapted to accommodate my wheelchair.
Although I can no longer walk or eat without help and require assistance with all personal aspects of my care, I have the very strongest desire to lead as independent life as possible in my own home. With the support of my family and with your help I know this is possible.
If you are interested in becoming part of a flexible and truly caring team within my home, broadening your medical and healthcare knowledge and helping me live my life to the full, then we are here for you too.
