Programme Officer Productivity & Skills
Salary range: £34,196 £38,493 per annum + excellent benefits
Hours: 36.5 per week
Contract type: permanent

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Officer in our Productivity & Skills Directorate and are looking for a person with proven knowledge and experience of programme planning and management across multiple projects, the ability to identify connections and dependencies and with a strong focus on performance.

The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is a strategic authority working with partners to deliver a stronger West Midlands, with a focus on skills, innovation, transport, economic development and regeneration. Individual Councils and Local Enterprise Partnerships will still deliver services and retain their identity but on the big decisions we will have the resources to work together.

The Productivity and Skills Team
The teams is focused on inclusive growth more local jobs and more local people benefitting from jobs. To do this we work closely with the regions Universities, colleges and training providers and also employers so that the training matches their skills needs.

About the role
You will provide a comprehensive programme management service to the Productivity and Skills team as it seeks to plan, implement and deliver the Regional Skills Plan across multiple projects. Your role will be to ensure high standards of planning and delivery, by providing tools, guidance, advice & support on all aspects of project and programme management. You will provide comprehensive project and performance management support to a range of projects within the Productivity & Skills Directorate.

To succeed in the role
You will need to have experience of Programme and Project Management, a methodical approach to developing processes, procedures and practices and excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels of contact
You will also have the ability and resilience to plan and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously, managing time and resource accordingly.
