About the job
Our client is a manufacturing business based in wellappointed offices between Ely and Cambridge.
They are now looking for someone who is qualified or partqualified to join their Reporting & Compliance team in an influential role central to the provision of management information driving business decisions.
This is a varied role and duties will include;
Taking ownership in accounting of both tangible and intangible fixed assets
To assist in the accurate accounting of:
Inventory and stock provisions
Revenue and deferred revenue reporting including gross margin
Assisting with preparation of monthly management accounts pack
Assisting with preparation of Revenue and Gross Margin analysis
Stock and variance analysis/control, fixed/intangible assets and Balance Sheet reconciliations
Stock accounting to provide effective management of the companys stock working closely with Operations to ensure targets are met and risks identified
Identifying ways to improve on process and systems and provision of management information
Preparation of monthly stock reports for Board Report and Management Accounts with appropriate graphs and commentary
Fixed asset accounting maintaining fixed asset registers for all categories of fixed assets
Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Overseas statutory reporting
Ad hoc project work
This role will suit someone who has a background in the manufacturing sector and enjoys getting out in to the business communicating with both finance and nonfinance personnel.
Alternatively, it could suit someone who is looking to make their first move out of the profession and has experience working with clients in the manufacturing field.
Advanced IT skills, notably in Excel are essential and experience of Dynamics AX would be a distinct advantage, although not essential.
A meticulous approach and a keen eye for detail are critical to the successful fulfilment of this role.
