Contracts Supply Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Supply Manager to join our busy and thriving Building Services Team at Magenta Living.
Purpose of the Contracts Supply Manager:
The overall purpose of the role will be to act as the technical lead and relationship manager with our prime material supply chain partner for the delivery of all material related products required by operational managers and their teams to deliver effective and efficient repair, Maintenance and refurbishment services to all our customers. The role holder will need to proactively manage relationships with external subcontractors and suppliers to ensure overall performance and KPIs are monitored and adhered to against agreed contractual targets.
This role would be suitable for an individual with skills and experience in the management and control of a Building supply and materials contract, procurement, and the co-ordination of sub-contractor selection and control. Relevant experience from working in a large public sector/ Housing Provider would be beneficial.
This is a permanent full-time role working 37 hours per week, based in our modern head office in Birkenhead. The office is easily accessible from most transport links with just a short walk from Hamilton Square train station and local bus routes. Free parking is provided to staff either on site or nearby.
The role of Contracts Supply Manager reports directly to the Head of Business Operations and has responsibility for managing one member of staff.
Requirements of the Contracts Supply Manager:
Knowledge and understanding of UK and EU procurement legislation would be beneficial however more importantly is the willingness to learn and to form strong working relationships with our in-house procurement team. In conjunction with the procurement team, the individual will need to provide advice, guidance and support to colleagues by specifying and recommending appropriate materials required to undertake works that can be quantified as providing value for money.
Strong negotiation and persuasion skills will be required to negotiate discounts, where contracts permit and in accordance with agreed terms / procurement legislation as appropriate with core suppliers or external subcontractors whilst ensuring programme of works are delivered as planned.
The role holder will also need to contribute and make suggestions as necessary to improve Magenta Living's corporate procurement strategy and ensure the successful implementation of that strategy within the Building Services team.
In addition to the skills, knowledge and experience already outlined, the role holder should have good commercial acumen and a strong project management focus. They will need to have excellent communication and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and work accurately under pressure and to deadlines. Good IT skills are also required, in particular MS office Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint plus experience of a project management system would also be beneficial.
