We have an outstanding opportunity for the successful applicant to become Depot Manager of our brand new distribution depot in West Thurrock on the Logistics City complex. As the depot is a new building the successful candidate will be a major player in setting the whole site up including the Fleet, Warehouse and Administration functions and therefore establishing a winning culture from day one.
The role will report directly to the Southern Logistics Operations Manager and join Marston’s Beer Company’s family of 13 Distribution Depots including sites across the south in Exeter, Newport, Ringwood, Witney and Bedford. The Depot Manager will be responsible for the day to day successful operation of the site with a number of direct reports including Fleet and Warehouse managers. Successful delivery to thousands of drinks outlets across London and the south east will be your main goal and complete customer satisfaction your driving force.
Job Role
Responsibility for all Health & Safety compliance across the Depot
Responsibility for ensuring the site is legally compliant with it’s Goods Vehicle Operator Licence
Ensure minimisation of costs, whilst maintaining exemplary customer service standards
Ensure the correct policy and procedures are adhered to across the various departments on site
Manage costs in line with set budgets
Manage the site within Logistics KPI’s established by our customers
Profile of the ideal candidate
Will hold the Transport Manager National Certificate of Professional Competence
Preferable to hold a NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH qualification
Be prepared to work in a fast paced non 9 to 5 environment
Will have previous experience of Brewery Logistics, Warehouse or other multi-drop operations.
Will have prior knowledge of SAP operating systems
Ideally will be computer literate, including knowledge of Microsoft packages
Prior experience of WMS and FIFO
Will have strong numerical and literacy skills
Have excellent attention to detail
Work on their own initiative and be self-motivated
Will be flexible, reliable and confident in their own decisions
Will be prepared to travel, learn and try new ideas
