Location: Guy?s and Strand Campus (some travel to Waterloo may be required)
The Marketing Assistant will help to promote King?s Careers & Employability to students and staff across the university.
Reports to: Communications & Marketing Officer and/or relevant Careers Consultant

Aims

  1. To promote King?s Careers & Employability facilities, services and events as widely as possible at King?s.
  2. To assist in the delivery of careers events programmes throughout the year.
  3. To build and maintain relationships between Careers & Employability and relevant student societies and associations.

Job role:

  • Act as an ambassador with students and academic departmental staff for FOLSM
  • Create and edit email newsletters using the Mailchimp platform
  • Schedule engaging social media posts to promote events through Hootsuite, and monitor engagement
  • Communicate with relevant contacts within student societies and associations to promote events in a timely manner
  • Distribute posters and flyers at Guy?s Campus
  • Take notes from employer presentations and submit basic reports
  • Collect student feedback and survey results
  • Upload events to King?s CareerConnect
  • Assist at King?s Careers Fairs with surveys, social media and photography
  • Lecture shout-outs (with permissions from academic staff) about forthcoming careers events and services
  • Information gathering and research
  • Attend open days, post-offer days, fresher?s fairs and career road shows to inform prospective students about King?s Careers
  • Canvas student views on King?s Careers and the services it offers, including facilitating focus groups
  • Carry out other reasonable tasks delegated by the Marketing Officer/Career Consultant

SkillsEssential:

  • Current student of King?s College London in academic year 2##### ######Positive and friendly approach to their work with clear student focus
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people
  • Ability to empathise with the needs of students, employers and staff
  • Ability to organise own workload, work towards and meet agreed deadlines
  • Initiative to work independently and problem solve
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English is essential

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of and familiarity with the needs of FOLSM students and relevant faculty societies
  • An interest in Life Sciences or currently studying in FOLSM
  • Knowledge of platforms such as Hootsuite and Mailchimp
  • Graphic design skills (Adobe InDesign) and/or knowledge of digital image files and formats
  • Knowledge of platforms such as Hootsuite and Mailchimp
  • Competency in additional languages
