About the job
Our client is a professional, independent environmental consultancy operating throughout the UK with a friendly and open professional culture. Now looking to strengthen and grow their ecological team, they are looking for an Assistant Ecologist to work from their office in Merseyside.
Main job roles;
-Undertake site assessment, desk study and report writing with support from other team members
-Assist other project team members, subcontractors and seasonal staff in surveys for a range of species
-Provide support for Ecological Impact Assessments and Habitat Regulations Assessments
-Liaise with colleagues, contractors and clients to ensure effective project delivery
-Develop your technical and consultancy skills, paying attention to both the company and CIEEM's CPD requirements
-Previous experience as a Graduate or Assistant Ecologist in a consultancy or advisory role
-A degree in ecology/biological conservation (or similar)
-Experience of ecological field work including Phase 1 habitat survey and some protected species survey capability. A protected species survey licence would be an advantage
