Stock Controller – Avonmouth RRC (Resource Recovery Centre)
Salary – Competitive
At Viridor, we’re one of the UK’s leading recycling, renewable energy and waste management companies and part of the FTSE 250 Pennon Group. We put waste into action, transforming it into high quality recyclables, raw materials and energy, and are at the forefront of the UK’s green economy. We’re undergoing rapid change and development which provides opportunities for those who are seeking a role to make their mark and drive forward a best in class performance.
Fast growing and investing over £1.2bn in the development of a network of state-of-the-art Energy Recovery Facilities across the UK, we’re already established as the second largest operator in the UK and looking to become the largest. The ERFs reduce the reliance on landfill or exporting waste for treatment whilst being key to our revenue generation.
Our Avonmouth RRC is currently undergoing construction and will require an experienced Stock Controller to ensure effective stock management and maintaining efficient stock levels at a local level.
Reporting to the Regional Business Support and Stock Manager (South), the Stock Controller will be primarily focused on the stock management policies and processes on site to maximise availability and mitigate financial risk. In addition to this you will contribute to the development of a common stock strategy across all ERF/RRC sites, identifying stock management solutions and engage with other departments in the procurement of consumable materials.
Stock Controller duties include:
Responsibility for the integrity of the stock control system (Ellipse stores) ensuring accurate records are kept and are in line with group procurement and company policy
Liaise with the Central Engineering team/Local Site Management/Group procurement
Create, implement and regularly review detailed and robust procedures to cover all aspects of stock management and control; including, but not limited to: purchasing, issue, recharging, count, valuation, write off and month end
The ideal Stock Controller will possess the following attributes:
Proven stock control skills including inventory management, stock checks / audits
Experience and knowledge of using an electronic stock control system
Thorough parts knowledge of an energy from waste (ERF) facility or similar
Experience of engaging with a wider stock control team to identify stock commonality across sites
Demonstrable experience of working autonomously
Ability to manage budgets, possessing strong numeracy skills
Exposure to a zero-tolerance culture that practices excellent Health & Safety standard
At Viridor, we offer a competitive salary as well as excellent benefits including our pension scheme, healthcare, free eye test and safety eyewear where required alongside several other benefits.
This is an exciting opportunity in our fast-growing business to join, develop and drive forward this state-of-the-art brand-new facility and help Viridor become the market leader.
