Our client are an international specialist manufacturer of bespoke machinery for the Automotive Industry.

The Opportunity/Role

Our client are looking for a Trainee Mechanical Design Engineer to undergo a 4 year training program in the design and development of bespoke machinery for the automotive industry.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

HNC or BEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Knowledge of CAD software packages e.g Solidworks, AutoCAD, Catia
Good communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative

As the Trainee Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Use of the 3D and 2D Cad Solidworks and AutoCad, Other cad software will be considered software to update and modify existing designs
Obtaining quotes and communicating with suppliers on technical issues
Answering queries during manufacture, build and installation
Preparing and maintaining documentation and records to a `Quality Operating System.
Preparing and maintaining PowerPoint documents for customer approval presentations
Preparing and maintaining Excel documents for internal recording of items such as Drawing updates, issue decks, supplier specifications etc.
Detailing, Ballooning assemblies & generating stock sheets.
