About the job
Timeplan Education are proud to be working with a secondary special school for pupils with MLD, SLD, Autistic spectrum disorder, PMLD and multisensory impairment. We are recruiting for teaching assistants to support within their PMLD department who have experience of personal care and hoisting for day to day, long term and permanent opportunities, starting immediately.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building relationships within the classroom, enabling mobility around the school, supporting with swimming and hydrotherapy sessions and assisting with personal care. Average class sizes are 5 to 9 and the needs of the pupils vary. You will be working within a motivated team of teaching assistants who work hard to provide pupils with a varied and fulfilled day.
Pupils have access to a wonderful sensory garden and onsite swimming pool facilities which is used on a daily basis. The majority are working to P levels 1 & 2 and there is alternative education in place which offers: Music, Dance, Rebound and Yoga therapy which follows the schools sensory approach. The role is full time and split across KS2, KS3 and KS4, and we welcome candidates who have experience of supporting pupils aged 025 to apply. We are seeking candidates who are looking to work as part of a hugely successful and caring team with the desire to make a difference. The SLT are true believers in development, training and regularly offer CPD courses as part of their commitment to you.

Understanding or experience of SEND
Manual handling / hoist training
Personal Care experience
A current DBS
Empathy, Understanding and loving personality
