BA(Hons) Illustration is a vibrant and established course of study in the School of Art and Media / Faculty of Arts and Humanities, with new core exit awards in Animation and the Screen, Children's markets, Comic and Visual Narratives, Printmaking.
Are you a practising Illustrator and/or teacher with specialist knowledge of Illustration as a profession/practice historically and in contemporary society, familiar with traditional and emerging processes and techniques? Are you able to help students develop theoretical understanding in Illustration and help them contextualise Subject related content for essay writing and dissertation work?
If so, this is an exciting opportunity to teach and research in a dynamic and forward thinking university that places enterprise at its heart. The Communication Arts subject area includes connected programmes of study at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels - BA(Hons) Graphic Communication with Typography, BA(Hons) Illustration, and MA Publishing.
We are looking for a person with vision and breadth of experience to work with an established team responsible for the provision of knowledge and expertise in BA(Hons) Illustration, providing students with all the skills, knowledge and support they need to become outstanding practitioners and researchers prepared for the many Illustration environments, as well as to deliver and develop student focused, cost effective teaching and learning, that supports the strategic direction of the programme.
The role also requires elements of positive leadership and collaboration in relation to the Illustration programme, as well as other Communication Arts subject area programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels where relevant, as detailed in the job description.
