Applications are invited for the position of Curriculum Administrator based in the Institute of Health Sciences Education (IHSE), School of Medicine and Dentistry at Queen Mary Univerity of London.
The post-holder of this busy and challenging role will primarily be responsible for providing high level administrative support to the Institute Manager (Quality & Research), Deputy Dean for Education and other senior colleagues and will support the administration of the MB BS Curriculum. The post-holder will assist in an ongoing programme of curriculum review which enables the School to ensure the provision of high quality professional training and education for our students.
The post holder will be responsible for the accurate recording of input from academic staff to the MBBS programme, amending the online record system SWARM as required.
The post holder will be responsible for the accuracy of information on Compas and for collecting teaching and programme related data. They will work closely with all Education Leads, Institute Managers and IHSE professional and academic staff, and for ensuring QMUL regulatory requirements are met.
The post will work closely with the Centre for Medical Education and other colleagues to support the Institute's continuing developments
The role will involve all elements of administration and will require a good working knowledge of Higher Education systems. The post-holder will be required to have experience in databases and spreadsheets and Microsoft Office.
Previous experience of working in the higher and/or further education sector is essential, preferably in a health related area. As well as being an effective team player, with good communication and interpersonal skills, a professional, friendly and approachable attitude, a high level of organisational skill is essential. The post-holder will be responsible for managing his/her own workload, often working without direct supervision, providing an efficient and supportive service to colleagues. The post is full-time, 35 hours per week.

GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
Educated to A level or equivalent or equivalent experience
Administrative experience, preferably in an HE/NHS environment
Excellent IT skills, including spreadsheets, email, word processing and databases (Microsoft Office)
Excellent organisational and planning skills with a methodical approach and strict attention to detail
Experience of implementing and maintaining efficient office systems and procedures
Experienced in exercising judgement and making decisions independently, understanding when appropriate to escalate issues
Experience of working autonomously, but also able to work collaboratively and flexibly as part of a team
Ability to manage projects independently
Able to plan and prioritise own workload and meet deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate, and liaise effectively with individuals at all levels
Excellent written, verbal and numeracy skills
Ability to act with initiative, confidentiality and diplomacy
Experience of curriculum management
Experience of Medical programmes
