An opportunity has arisen for a district nurse to join the community nursing academic team as full-time Lecturer within the Faculty of Health Sciences at Staffordshire University. You will join a team that embraces innovation and aspires to be forward thinking in approach to community nursing.

You will join the University at a time when health care education and care delivery is undergoing rapid change and we are looking for an individual who can work effectively and flexibly with partners and staff to ensure our course provision, at both undergraduate and post graduate level, meets current and future expectations of all partner organisations. By acting as an ambassador for the Faculty you will raise Staffordshire University's profile locally and nationally in the community nursing arena.

You must be an experienced registered adult nurse and specialist practitioner: District nursing and hold live registration on the NMC professional register. In addition you must have an appropriate recordable NMC approved prescribing course. With recent clinical practice and experience of teaching, you must enjoy teaching and assessing students and hold a degree in nursing or a closely related subject. It is desirable that you will have an NMC recordable teaching qualification or possess a higher degree in Nursing or a closely related subject.

You will be an enthusiastic, innovative and flexible individual with commitment to ensuring an excellent and supportive student experience. In return we offer you 22 days scholarly actively for your professional growth and development and a friendly/supportive working environment.

The University has recently announced plans to deliver the majority of facilities, services and courses from one main campus at Stoke-on-Trent by September 2016. Under the current plans, it is unlikely that this post will be affected by this decision, as the provision of health courses currently delivered at Stafford is planned to remain based in Stafford.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this post.
