The Wolfson Centre for Bulk Solids Handling Technology in the Faculty of Engineering and Science requires a capable andproactive addition to the team of Engineers to support Enterprise, Research and Development work in the specialist field of bulk solids handling. The successful applicant will augment a world renowned team of engineers providing research and consulting services to various industry sectors. Activities will include laboratory and analytical work relating to design and troubleshooting of industrial solids handling systems. Engagement with various research focussed projects will also be required.
A PhD qualification in some aspect of mechanical or chemical engineering is essential, together with familiarity of general engineering principles applied in industry. A track-record of hands-on skills in laboratory and/or practical engineering work are also essential. The candidate will need to have well developed communication skills, both written and oral, and to be prepared to occasionally represent The Wolfson Centre to industry clients in a way that will impress.
Hours of work will be full time but with flexibility to make early starts and/or late finishes when travel or workload requires. This post is temporary for one year with the possibility to extend subject to available funding.
