About the job

Do you possess a willingness to genuinely make a difference to the lives of young children? Are you looking for a very rewarding Learning Support Assistant role to start in January? Then this could be the job for you!

One of our partnership schools in Newham are looking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant on a full time basis, starting immediately in January. They are looking for someone that is confident, committed and that has a passion for making a difference to the lives of young children.

Job Responsibilities:

Supporting children of a lower learning ability than the year group they are in
Liaising with the relevant class teachers and SENCO when required
Being adept within Speech and Language and/or Intervention
Developing a rapport with children and utilising an empathetic approach
To support children across all areas of learning with a variety of needs while also allowing them independence

Preferred Skills:

Previous experience working with primary school children
Understanding of Safeguarding
A basic understanding of Speech & Language and/or intervention
Having a DBS on the online update service or be willing to complete a new DBS application

To be proactive, understanding, empathetic and patient
To have a passion for working with children and supporting their learning and development
