Supported Housing Officer
£19,500 + benefits
Elim Housing Association has been providing Supported Housing Services for over 25 years. We also provide services to around 800 individuals and families in England and Wales in more independent accommodation and continue to actively develop new initiatives and build new homes. We are looking to recruit a Supported Housing Officers to deliver quality and tailored support within our Vulnerable Parents Service.
The service uses a psychologically informed approach to support vulnerable parents that have been or are at risk of homelessness. Aiding them to move on positively with the tools to sustain their own more permanent accommodation and thrive with their children in the community.
We have successfully worked in partnership with Places for People for the last 5 years and achieved fantastic outcomes for those we have supported under was what formally known as the Bristol Young Parents Alliance (BYPA). Together we are committed to continuing to do so for vulnerable parents of all ages following a successful re-commissioning process with Bristol City Council
The Supported Housing Officer role is both challenging and rewarding. You will be responsible for working closely with our residents ensuring they receive psychologically informed support on a 1 to 1 basis. You will also be responsible for supporting them with managing and sustaining their tenancy and working in partnership with other agencies to ensure our residents and their children get the best support and outcomes. Excellent communication and strong organisational skills are essential in this role.
The post will be required to work across Priory Court in Knowle and Lanercost and Wigton in Southmead. Priory Court is staffed 7 days per week, 8am to 8pm, so flexibility is required as the work pattern includes some evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Requirements for the Supported Housing Officer Role
We are ideally looking for someone with a background of working with vulnerable people in housing or a support related environment catering for this client group. Although this is desirable it is not essential. Your attitude, commitment and work ethic for this post is equally important to us. We have a comprehensive training and induction programme to cover gaps in technical knowledge if you've got the right value base to build on.
