About the job
Service Manager Part Time
£9.01 per hour
Our client is an innovative charity that focuses on inspiring people to give the gift of voluntary service to support the NHS and older people at home and in the community. They are now looking for a Service Manager to join their team on a part time basis.
This is your chance to become an integral member of a passionate team and oversee vital services that support people in their return from hospital.
You’ll join a passionate, engaged team who are ready to deliver outstanding support and put smiles on faces.
As the Service Manager, you will be tasked with running our client’s Home from Hospital service.
Funded by our client and supported by Hospital Trusts, the service supports people returning from hospital after extended stays. This time can be daunting and the service helps ex-patients regain their confidence and re-establish routines.
This is a free service where volunteers visit people’s homes and help out with activities such as shopping, picking up prescriptions, attending social activities, providing information or simply having a cup of tea and a chat.
Specifically, you will:
- Develop and deliver the service to ensure all targets are met
- Manage the service on a day-to-day basis
- Ensure agreed customer service standards are met
- Recruit, develop, motivate and line manage staff and volunteers
Interested? If so, you will need:
- The ability to proficiently use industry standard IT systems (e.g. Microsoft Office, email and the internet) to a basic level
- The ability to demonstrate a sound basic level of literacy and numeracy skills
Organised and customer focused, as the Service Manager, you must be a strong communicator with a team player mentality and the ability to plan effectively.
Knowledge and experience of general administrative processes and maintaining databases would be beneficial to your application. Experience of working with volunteers and/or volunteer-led support groups would also be advantageous.
This is a part time role working 17.5 hours per week on Wednesday afternoons, Thursdays and Fridays.
The closing date for applications is the 28th December 2018.
