Night Warehouse Operative
Location: Springfield Business Park, Chelmsford
Salary package: up to £22k (dependant on experience)
Our client is the country's leading distributor of Floor Coverings. Their customers are independent retailers and contractors, located throughout the United Kingdom for which they serve the South East region. The Night Warehouse Team are a key function in ensuring the distribution network meets the high demands of today's wholesale flooring market, both on stock availability and excellent service standards with next day delivery.
They currently have a vacancy for a physically fit Night Warehouse Operative with fork lift and loading experience as well as a positive can-do attitude. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy friendly team based at the depot on Boreham Interchange, Chelmsford.
Ensure accuracy of orders picked against pick sheets.
Ensure health & safety is adhered to within the workplace at all times
Packing picked orders neatly/securely and in order onto pallets for transportation.
Loading/unloading intake night trailers in a safe efficient manner
Loading vehicles which involves some manual handling of carpets/vinyl floor coverings
Develop excellent product knowledge.
Develop excellent working relationships with work colleagues.
Movement of vehicles within the yard area
Supporting the Warehouse Manager in adhering to new working processes.
Learning all roles within the warehouse operation including some office-based tasks
Pallet wrapping/pallet strapping
The successful candidate will:
Be highly motivated and keen to succeed/progress within the business.
Demonstrate proven experience within a Warehouse environment.
Have an excellent attendance record in previous roles.
Ideally have both current valid Counterbalance & Reach truck fork lift licences, although full training is possible for the ideal candidate
Have excellent communication skills with colleagues at all levels.
Be well-organised, proactive, methodical, calm under pressure with good attention to detail.
Ideal candidate will have longevity of work history
Physically fit due to the nature of the work.
Be flexible to meet the needs of the business with a ?can do ?attitude.
Have the ability to engage & develop their skillset
Knowledge of flooring products is not essential, but would be an advantage, as would experience of a similar working environment and a forklift licence.
