Head of External Communications 9 month contract fixed term, Banbury
We are searching for a high calibre professional to cover a period of maternity leave and lead the communications function for a leading independent professional services business who operate on a local, national and global scale.
Managing one inhouse direct report and leading the external press office, this role is ultimately responsible for raising awareness of company products and services through the development and delivery of group PR and media relations, social media and public review strategies.
It will be your job to lead the insight led content programme, develop and manage key internal stakeholder relationships across both UK and global leadership teams, own group wide issues and crises management and business continuity planning processes, as well as drive strategic planning and team performance in order to ensure strong return on investment for all external comms activity.
Whilst a clear and comprehensive communications strategy is already in place, this is a business who are always looking to improve and enhance their offering, therefore, we are looking for someone isnt afraid to challenge the status quo and who can bring new ideas to the table.
To be considered you will need to have demonstrable experience of leading and managing a communications function within a commercial environment, as well as leading media relations and developing a presence across traditional media, social media and digital channels. In addition you will be able to evidence successful working relationships with national journalists.

Note that whilst this role is based at head office near Banbury, for the right person remote/home working will be available on a one or two day per week basis should it be necessary due to location.
Its an attractive but relatively remote office location so you will need your own transport.
In terms of timescales, interviews are due to take place this side of Christmas with a view to the post holder starting in January 2019.
