Are you a currently working in a Senior IFA support position and looking to make the next step in your career? Looking to develop an aspiring Paraplanner/Financial planner this Edinburgh based Financial planner is looking for a capable financial planning professional that is eager to develop their career and pursue further qualifications (if not already qualified)
You will work closely with a wide financial planning team of Paraplanners and Advisors to assist with the preparation and implementation of advice. This large support network will give the successful candidate a great framework for further development, learning from experienced financial planning professionals.
Experienced in an IFA support position
Commercial awareness of wider financial planning market including various tax and investment wrappers, insurance and pension products and investment solutions.
Have a strong awareness of and passion for financial markets.
Up to date with FCA rules and regulations, including current areas or regulator focus.
Awareness of current events in the IFA/Financial Planning area, including advice trends.
The successful candidate should be aiming to achieve or currently Level 4 CII Diploma
Support Financial Planner, to draft suitability letters confirming recommendations and follow the advice process through to implementation.
Maintain a bank of Wealth Management and Transactional Financial Planning clients with the associated Financial Planner.
Assist in compiling financial planning proposals for prospect clients.
Prepare new client and annual review client meeting packs.
Assist with drafting annual report commentaries.
Set up and maintain compliant advice files, ensuring correct documentation is included.
Coordinate onboarding of new clients and the opening of new accounts.
Attend and participate in client meetings, where appropriate.
Draft, prepare and issue client valuations, taking responsibility for any additional bespoke work to be compiled.
Liaise with third party stakeholders such as accountants, lawyers and service providers in order to provide/obtain information for mutual clients.
Process and maintain client profile data. Liaise with other departments to make sure that information held is accurate across the business.
Process client risk questionnaires and document discussion of risk to support suitability.
Provide general administrative support to Financial Planners
