Where you'll be working
Our children's home in Ipswich is an innovation project for young people that are experiencing improving or declining mental health. We have registered mental health nurses and an integrative psychotherapist on site alongside the care team. We are registered as a home for 5 young people at any one time, as well as providing an outreach service for young people that have moved on from our care. We also have an observation room on site which can be used for caring for young people in crisis.
Our Support Worker roles in Ipswich offer a salary of: £17,364 - £20,344, and an additional £35.00 per sleep in.
As a Support Worker you'll be doing the following:
Manage the well-being and behaviour of young people ensuring behaviours are addressed promptly and sensitively.
Assist senior staff with the writing and maintaining of care plans
Support young people in daily activities such as meal times, attendance of appointments, contact with members of their family, social outings, health and fitness, medication, promoting independence and social behaviour.
Support and encourage educational engagement
Safeguard both young people and the general public.
It is preferable that the successful candidate has 3 years driving experience and a clean license.
A family is 24/7 and so are we. We use a rota system to ensure the people in our homes get the care they need.
As a Support Worker at our home in Ipswich, you can expect to work shifts ranging from 8 - 15 hours per day, over a 3 - 4 day week. These may also include an occasional sleep-in shift.
