About Safe Haven Accommodation:
SHA specialise in providing a range of supported accommodation and supported living services for semi-independent looked after children from the age of 16+.
Every young person is an individual and has different needs, preferences and desires which we recognise, respect and support.
Seeing the best in each one of our young people, we look beyond the surface to get to know and understand them. This enables us to tailor our style to help them achieve the best outcomes for themselves.
Our dedicated team support our young people by: Safeguarding them Identifying their desires, skills and interests and then supporting them with fulfilling and developing them Sourcing services, training, education and employment and making relevant referrals for the services chosen by them Teaching them the life skills theyll need in everyday life Creating SMART objectives for young people to support them to achieve their goals
Your role: To successfully lead young people who are placed with Safe Haven Accommodation towards independence by setting them SMART objectives and support them to achieve these. The creation of achievement plans to set aims and objectives for each young person Complete weekly planners that detail the activities for the young people and ensure that key-working sessions take place. Other paperwork will include risk assessments, missing person reports, accident reports and significant incident reports. Establish positive relationships with young people and work with them to assess their needs, ensuring their physical, cultural, emotional, religious, educational and psychological needs are met. Create a positive, welcoming and stimulating environment for our young people in their accommodations and support them with domestic duties in their homes. Respond to challenging behaviour and respond appropriately. Accompany young persons to appointments and meetings and work with their families, social workers and organisations such as the police. Encourage young people to have a voice and input into the service. Address complaints from the young people as well as from external organisations. Assist co-workers with updates concerning a young persons behaviour, plans or activities. Keep staff aware of the current legal, professional and administrative procedures that apply within Safe Haven Accommodation.Travel required.
