The London School of Film, Media and Design, an exciting and innovative new School within the University of West London, will be formally launched in September 2015. Building on the University's new strategic plan: Ambition 2018, the School will be at the heart of our vision to provide a high quality career-focused student experience connected to the world of work and underpinned by a guaranteed work placement.
The London School of Film, Media and Design's vision is to be nationally and internationally recognised as a vibrant hub of creative learning, which will produce graduates who are 'Connected Creatives' - distinguished not only by their intellectual capabilities, but also by their enterprising qualities, employability and skills, and their aptitude and ambition to contribute to the creative lives of their communities.
In preparation for the launch of the School we wish to appoint a talented and inspirational Professor in any of the core areas of the School's activities: advertising, brand management and PR, fashion, photography, radio production, multimedia journalism, graphic design, media and communications, historical and contextual studies, digital media or film production.
The Professor will work with the School Executive to provide clear academic leadership for research, research-informed learning, innovation and enterprise. You will undertake a body of research of international significance, and deliver teaching excellence and leadership to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. We are particularly seeking candidates who have the ability to lead research that is practice-based and/or practice-led. You should be able to take on a course leadership role in your area of expertise if required. You should be supportive of the vision for the London School of Film, Media and Design, and able to deliver research, innovation and enterprise.
We would like to speak to candidates who are creative, entrepreneurial, committed and ambitious with the academic and professional credibility to develop our reputation with the creative industries and beyond, both nationally and internationally.
Candidates must hold a PhD, and demonstrate significant experience and achievement in your field.
