Sea Freight Export Operator
Our successful global client is seeking an individual to deliver an effective and efficient Sea Freight service for their clients within a growing business. This role will be involved in working within a team and ideally the successful candidate will have experience or working within Sea Freight previously.
As a Sea Freight Operator, you will be working as part of a team in the Ocean Freight department. You shall ensure that you are providing a valuable service to all customers and organise the safe, efficient and costeffective transportation of goods for sea exports.
As a Sea Freight Export Operator, you will have a clear understanding of the Companys policies, procedures and vision. You will understand how the Warehouse works and contributes to the companys success. As a Sea Freight Export Operator, you will ensure that all policies and procedures relating to Equality and Health and Safety are being adhered to at all times. You shall ensure that that all business transactions are carried out ethically and inline with all legislation. As a Sea Freight Export Handler, you will be in charge of handling worldwide sea, export LCL and FCL shipments from start to finish. You shall provide a high level of customer service at all times and build sustainable business relationships with clients. As a Sea Freight Export Handler, you will be liaising with customers, overseas agents and shipping lines on a daily basis. You shall negotiate rates to ensure maximum profit per shipment. As a Sea Freight Export Handler, you will be arranging customs clearances using ASM Sequoia. You shall be resolving any clearance queries and complaints, always looking for a solution that minimises delays. As a Sea Freight Export Operator, you shall be Booking in jobs and keeping customers updated at all stages of the export process. You shall be generating customer invoices, approving vendor invoices and sending out PODs. As a Sea Freight Export Operator, you shall be responsible for handling export quotations. As a Sea Freight Operator, you will be liaising with hauliers and internal transport team.
A minimum of five years experience in working within an Operations or Transport office. Ocean Export experience A good knowledge of Ocean Export procedures and documentation Excellent customer service skills Ability to work to deadlines with accuracy Ability to work well within a small team and use own initiative Strong knowledge around FE consolidation
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am till 5:00pm
