One of CoreAssets clients is creating a unified Group finance function and has an opportunity for an experienced accountant to be involved in establishing the financial reporting for a new listed group.
This role will be integral to establishing the consolidation process and production of the financial information for the new Groups reporting. It is an exciting opportunity to be involved in establishing the financial reporting for a new listed group and play a leading part in a new team with great longterm career prospects for progression.
Preparation of the Groups consolidated results, including review of BU inputs, eliminations and consolidation adjustments.
Support the preparation of the Group IFRS financial statements, including ownership of a number of notes to the accounts produced to auditable standards.
Support the preparation of the Groups Solvency 2 consolidated balance sheet and reporting, including ownership of selected quarterly and annual QRTs.
To support the Group consolidation system and change processes.
Utilise the Groups asset data store to produce Group asset reporting outputs as required.
To contribute to the response to adhoc requests from external parties such as the PRA and ratings agencies.
To support the delivery of finance change projects that impact on the consolidation process, including user acceptance testing of any changes.
To support the delivery of initiatives required as part of the demerger project to ensure Group reporting processes meet all reporting and control requirements of a newly listed plc.
To develop and maintain effective working relationships within the company finance section and the wider finance community.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customer outcomes and a reduction in business operational risk.
Working knowledge of financial reporting regulatory requirements and legislatory frameworks.
Working knowledge, expertise and experience in reporting IFRS
Experience of dealing with complex transactions and associated accounting.
Knowledge of the business, systems and distribution methods would be beneficial.
Some knowledge of industry trends, best practice and developments.
Highly analytical and skilled problem solver, with a strong commercial mindset, and the ability to distil complex ideas or problems into simple, effective plans and solutions.
Ability to communicate effectively and influence effectively with productive, successful relationships with demanding stakeholders.
Ability to assess, react quickly and decisively to problems, taking tough decisions where needed or escalating issues as appropriate.
