A leading global manufacturer based in Shropshire is looking for Quality Supervisor. Purpose of this role is to ensure the achievement of higher productivity through improved component quality and the effective closure of reported quality concerns.
1.Set objectives through SMART targets in line with business plan and department objectives for staff reporting to you and report the progress to the Manager.
2.Develop and implement detailed plans to meet the objectives and timeframes. Monitor the plans and ensure that delays to the project are identified and resolved without delay to the overall timeframe.
3.Communicate and report effectively to your Manager the progress of all project work allocated to you and your team. Ensure that any delays to project work that may threaten production, together with recovery proposals, are reported in a timely manner to your Manager.
4.Arrange and co-ordinate Quality meetings in order to effectively resolve Quality concerns and issue minutes with defined actions and timeframes.
5.Undertake investigation of quality problems (product, system, process etc.), utilising appropriate department staff, support departments and problem solving techniques.
6.Ensure that all quality issues are effectively communicated to the Quality Manager and service departments when required.
7.Analyse non-conforming material data, including reviews of scrap, rework, internal and external customer returns / complaints, and issue reports to relevant departments including improvement activities.
8.Raise SCAR's for nonconforming product and where necessary liaise with the supplier to ensure effective closure.
9.Visit and audit suppliers to report on the effectiveness of SCAR countermeasures.
10.Deputise for the Quality Manager during times of absence.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
•Be familiar with quality assurance principles and practices (e.g. SPC, FMEA, Poke Yoke, MSA, Control Plans, Process Auditing, problem solving techniques, etc.)
•Excellent understanding of engineering drawings and GDT principles
•Must have working knowledge of SPC
•Preferably has knowledge of heat treatment and hardness testing.
•Knowledge of ISO9000
•Experience of internally auditing to ISO9000, QS9000 or TS16949
Salary depending on experience can be between £25K - £35K
Working hours ( 39 hours a week )
Monday - Thursday
8:00 am - 5:15 pm
8am - 11:50am
