Reference: A4054Description: Plymouth University has vacancies for Educational Developers to join the Educational Development team in the Pedagogic Research Institute and Observatory (PedRIO).
You will contribute to the further development of a university with an enviable record in teaching and learning/ educational development. The university was successful in gaining funding for four Centres of Excellence in Teaching and Learning and has been successful in the award of 19 National Teaching Fellows.
You will report to the Head of Educational Development and work with the Educational Development/ PedRIO team. You will support the full range of academic and professional development activities including teaching on the GTA and PGCAP programmes and supporting applicants for the Teaching Development Framework (TDF).
You will have a higher degree and preferably have undertaken an accredited course in teaching and learning in higher education. You will be an excellent teacher who is able to demonstrate flair, flexibility and self confidence. You will have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills appropriate to the academic community, be able to work using your own initiative, set and work effectively to deadlines and be a creative thinker able to bring your own ideas and suggestions to the team.
You will have experience of teaching or supporting learning in higher education, as well as an understanding of the theory and practice of learning and teaching in higher education. You will have good knowledge of the Professional Standards Framework for teaching and learning in higher education (UKPSF) and its application in university settings. Expertise in pedagogic research would be advantageous.
There are two permanent positions available, a full time position working 37 hours per week, and a 0.6fte with hours pro rata.
