International Freight and Operations Specialist
Department: International Shipping
Reports to: International Shipping Team Leader
Hours of Work: Monday Friday, 9am 17.30pm

As a leading distributor, our International Shipping team are key to our ability to get our vendors product to our international customers whilst meeting legal compliance for export.
The Job Role
Working within our International Shipping team, you will ensure the full compliance of all our international shipments to internal processes, local and international regulations and that they are Customs compliant.
To ensure that our international warehouses follow due processes, both Westcoast and legal requirements
Liaising with our international couriers both UK and European
Issue customs clearance instructions for pre-sale property shipments
Ensure export documentation is being collected and sent to the compliance officer from third-party suppliers
Ensure that all tasks are carried out in full compliance with all local and international regulations (including Export Licensing)
Produce the relevant Export Declarations and documentations for shipments outside the EU
Produce the relevant Export Declarations for dangerous goods
Strong awareness of overall business activities and ability to communicate relevant information
Strong awareness of changes within the industry and ability to adapt or change internal processes inline with these changes (eg; Brexit)
Other duties as assigned by the Team Leader
2/3 years’ experience of export coordination or similar shipping role preferred, including knowledge of customs procedures
High degree of organisational skills with ability to multi-task, prioritise, and follow up promptly
Positive, dynamic attitude and an ability to lead by example
Working knowledge of international VAT requirements
Ability to work well as a team and communicate confidently with colleagues
Excellent verbal and written presentation skills
Logical thinker, attention to detail, and excellent personal organisation
Distribution supply chain knowledge
Excellent general IT skills and knowledge of shipping related systems and infrastructure
