ILS Engineer - Basingstoke - circa £50,000 + £5400 car + bonus
The Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) team in Basingstoke need additional support to for a number of new projects both legacy and new design. Most are Computer Information Systems with a Supply Support (logistic) activity. The required main ILS activities include AR+M, Obsolescence, LIR development and Technical Publications.
The team requires an ILS Engineer who has been involved with design teams to ensure ILS elements are built into the design. The role will be based out of Corsham working directly with the customer engineering team, so strong maintainability skills will be required. The role will then continue during the operational phase maintaining the customer deliverables.
Responsibilities Analysis and reporting Maintaining configuration management of ILS tools Production of the Obsolescence Management Log Conduct a full range of AR+M activities (FMECA, LORA etc) Spares modelling Advise on the applicability and translation of supportability requirements to other team activities Work across the ILS disciplines to ensure AR and M influences the support solutions and products being evolvedMandatory Skills In-depth knowledge of Def Stan 00-600 In-depth knowledge of Defence Logistics Framework (was JSP 886) Ability to tailor the ILS and R+M collateral to meet the specific needs for the support and maintainability of Information Technology, and Information Systems. Knowledge of defining the ILS deliverables associated with the provision of an ICT system with specific reference to the ILS Elements as follows:Integrated Logistic Support Planning, SQEP Obsolescence Management, Maintenance Planning, Supply Support, Support and Test Equipment (S+TE), Facilities And Infrastructure, Training And Training Equipment, Technical Information, Packaging, Handling, Storage And Transportation (PHS+T), Human Factors Integration, Reliability And Maintainability, Disposal And Termination Security Clearance will be required - you must be eligible to obtain SC clearance Written communications – clear technical writing and presentation. Full Driving LicenceDesirable Skills Required: Technical knowledge of common IT equipment Knowledge of ITIL and Service Delivery Management Knowledge of the delivery of secure IT infrastructures of ILS Solutions for UK Government.The Company
