About the job
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident, self-motivated and dynamic, with excellent verbal and written communication ability. Responsibilities will include technical input to projects, including supporting / preparing proposals, project planning, management of resources (office or site based) and sub-contractors (where required), Site supervision, completion of appropriate scheduling of laboratory testing, site monitoring, data assessment, factual and interpretative reporting and financial management. We work on a wide variety of projects ranging from residential developments to large, mixed-use schemes with challenging ground conditions both geotechnically and environmentally QUALIFICATION Memberof professional Body (ideally the Geological Society) and working towardsChartered status. Demonstrationof equivalent qualification or experience.Bachelordegree in geology or closely related subject and preferably a secondaryqualification i.e. MSc. EXPERIENCE & SKILLS FullUK Driving Licence essential;Groundinvestigation design, supervision and management; Excellentunderstanding of geology and field descriptions of soil and rock in accordancewith BS:5930 (2015) and EC7;Abilityto build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels within thebusiness, with clients, subcontractors and other third parties (regulators,statutory consultees, etc)Trackrecord in the production of factual and interpretative reports, including DeskStudies / PRAs (Phase 1) and Ground Investigation reports (Phase 2); Beable to schedule geotechnical laboratory testing and interpret the results;Haveexperience in geotechnical factual and interpretative report writing;Beable to produce detailed ground models and cross-sections; Becompetent using Holebase SI, gINT or similar;
The following experience is also desirableFoundationadvice / design;CoalMining Risk Assessments;Knowledgeof earthworks;Slopestability analysis.
