Do you have a passion for supporting others? Are you confident with building relationships? If you have answered yes to these questions, our specialist residential care homes in the heart of Hampshire needs you! We are seeking talented Support Workers in Hampshire who are keen to make a difference to the young people we care for.
We have nine independently registered homes within the New Forest and Southampton area. In addition to this we have two independent specialist schools, one of which was awarded 'Outstanding' status in all six categories by Ofsted in July 2017.
We are proud of our excellent reputation for providing highly effective education, care, therapy, welfare and support for up to 60 boys and girls aged 5 to 19 years old who have difficulties regulating their emotional, social and mental health needs. They may also have other complex needs often associated with autistic spectrum conditions.

The care we provide is tailored to each young person to enable them to fulfil their full potential. Their needs are complex and may include Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), autistic spectrum disorders including Asperger's syndrome, ADHD and other associated learning difficulties. The work we do is challenging but everyone who joins Priory Group are provided with the relevant mandatory and optional training that is specific to their role.
What will I be doing?
Your day will be varied but overall you will provide the highest quality care in a safe and positive environment. This will involve listening to every young person within our homes and involving them in their own education, care and transition plans.
Your duties will include: -
- Supporting our young people with normal excursions which may include shopping, swimming lessons, scouts, visiting restaurants and theme park trips!
- Encouraging positive behaviours and caring for the well-being of our service users.
- Supporting the wider team of staff within the home/school to ensure the young people reach their full potential.
- Caring for your key child which involves liaising with external agencies, family members and other support services.
What we need from you!
Your role as a Support Worker in Hampshire requires passion and enthusiasm, excellent communications skills, high levels of self-motivation and the necessary drive and commitment to help our young people to achieve their goals. It is essential to be a good listener and to act as a role model to make a real and lasting difference to their lives.
What you'll get from us...
As a Support Worker in our Children's Homes, you can expect to earn a salary up to £18,720 depending on your previous experience and qualifications. You will be flexible in your approach to working hours and will cover a variety of shifts totalling 37.5 hours per week. Part time and bank positions are also available! Shifts are between the hours of 7.30am and 10.30pm with occasional weekends and sleeping nights which are available at an enhanced rate of pay.
