About the job
We at Protocol are looking for a Head of Apprenticeships to join a friendly and dynamic team in the East London area for the next 8 12 weeks on a parttime or fulltime basis. You will lead on the success and development of the Apprenticeships provision while delivering excellent area management. You will be responsible for the performance and success of the overall training area to include preparation for apprenticeships. You will ensure the support for all staff within your area providing management, consistent performance and strong direction.
Ensure all aspects of the apprenticeship programme is delivered to the highest quality and meets all the requirements of successful apprenticeship provision.
To ensure that Apprenticeship training is managed effectively to deliver the high quality standards and ensures outcomes against agreed targets and objectives.
To lead and manage the design and delivery of apprenticeship frameworks and standards to ensure that they are fit for purpose and compliant with all regulations.
To ensure initial and diagnostic assessments are carried out and the information is used to plan effective support in terms of English, Maths and the apprenticeship learning objectives.
To drive up standards of teaching learning within the Apprenticeship training area by encouraging use of models of best practice in teaching, learning and assessment; and the use of innovative and creative training delivery.
To increase levels of apprentice and employer satisfaction of provision within the Apprenticeship training area.
To use management information and data to monitor and improve the quality of training.
To identify and manage the development of opportunities, ensuring a relevant and flexible portfolio of apprenticeships and traineeships.
Contribute to the further development of a safeguarding culture that is well understood by all apprentices, employers and the training team.
To manage the performance of staff within the training area according to DSS processes and procedures (induction, probation, performance, appraisal) and address underperformance where necessary.
To work with the Director of Education and Apprenticeships and the Human Resources department on the recruitment and deployment of staff.
The person & qualifications
Qualified to at least graduate level (or equivalent professional qualification)
Level 2 English and Maths
The ability to develop a culture of high expectation of performance ensuring achievement of excellent standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
Significant experience of leading and managing all aspects of apprenticeship provision to include managing information systems
Thorough knowledge and understanding of the curriculum and qualifications across apprenticeships and in particularly in the digital sector.
Knowledge of quality assurance and quality improvement strategies that drive continuous improvement.
Experience of developing curriculum areas and the use of innovative approaches to training, assessment and learning.
Experience of developing a culture of safeguarding across apprenticeship provision.
Experience of intervening to improve poorly performing provision and increasing achievement rates.
