£80 to £85k + bonus + benefits

My client, a legal Insurance services company is looking for a Head of IT Product Development to take responsibility for building and managing a high calibre team and the successful operation and development of the key software solutions and services.

They are the leading providers of legal and handling services to the UK general insurance sector. Currently they provide specialist services to 12 of the UK's 20 largest motor insurers in areas such as counter fraud, costs, credit hire, defendant services, large & complex injury and recoveries.
The candidate will be highly organised, analytical and innovative, with strong negotiation, diplomacy and interpersonal skills. A sound commercial awareness and ability to work to tight deadlines, anticipate and react to change is essential.
The purpose of the job and its primary objectives:
The role is essential to the future growth and success of the business, it is a great opportunity to drive product innovation and Influence technology product strategies that will future proof the company's digital customer experience. The successful candidate will maintain and lead the creative engine of the Technology Department.

Main Responsibilities:

Forming part of the IT Leadership team you will work collaboratively across the IT department and the Firm focusing and motivating all staff
You will be responsible for the leadership of the Development, Business Analysts and Testing teams and will recruit, lead, motivate, develop and manage the performance of direct reports, building a high calibre team.
Focus mainly on the customer experience and build products that will engage, entice and excite them
Develop Digital Product Strategy for business, with a focus on increasing customer engagement and experience to drive revenue
Liaise with clients and business representatives to understand the needs of business
Ensure compliance to product solution design in the implementation of projects
Explain design issues and IT solution strategies to stakeholders and other IT professionals
Monitor and maintain the quality of the teams output by implementing KPI's for all service areas
Report on the activities and accuracy of Business Analysts, developers and Testers on IT solutions
Manage multiple concurrent initiatives and projects of varying sizes and complexity
Identify, manage and mitigate all risks and Issues

Essential skills:

Experience of implementing Machine Learning and AI technologies
Implementing Client Portal technologies
The ability to grasp complex problems and come up with solutions in a simple and effective manner
Excellent communications skills, with the ability to present to a wide range of audiences
Ability to motivate others and lead change
Extensive project management experience using industry standard methodologies such as Prince2 and Agile
Experience of managing scrums and initiating communities of practice
Ability to manage, motivate, collaborate and communicate to cross-functional teams
Ability to see the big picture as well as giving attention to the smallest detail
Ability to effectively work with stakeholders at all levels
Problem solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to forecast resource requirements, budget costs and work successfully under pressure on multiple projects
