Our client is an innovative charity that focuses on inspiring and enabling people to give the gift of voluntary service to enrich and support their communities. They are now seeking an HR Advisor in Edinburgh to provide HR support both to local Retail and Community services, but specialise in supporting people matters within Retail.

As an HR Advisor, you’ll be tasked with supporting varied aspects of HR across the organisation. Specifically, you’ll provide line managers with front line HR support and advice and assist Senior HR Partners with ER and resourcing matters.
Responding to internal HR policy queries, you’ll resolve individual staff queries and support line managers with formal and informal matters. There will be involvement in updating employment policies and new initiatives, as well as supporting routine ER cases such as investigations, grievance and disciplinary processes and supporting on sickness absence.
The ideal HR Advisor will have experience of using an HR information system, from accessing/inputting to compiling of data reports - however, this is by no means essential. Our client is looking for someone that has a desire to provide practical support to their staff and work with colleagues in a disparate team.
As the role will be supporting formal meetings, including recruitment processes, some local travel is expected frequently along with occasional meetings elsewhere in the UK.
This is a permanent, full time position, working 35 hours per week that will see you engaged in a wide variety of human resource activities, advancing your skills and knowledge and keeping you challenged and excited by your role.
Interested? If so, you will need:
- To be CIPD qualified or working towards this
- Knowledge of relevant HR or Employment legislation and experience of bringing this to life for line managers
- To be prepared for frequent local travel and occasional UK travel for meetings
- To have excellent IT skills including using an HRIS system, as well as Word and Excel
