About the job
This role is residential, and you will be given full-board accommodation for the duration of your contract.Main purpose of role:
This exciting dual role focusses on delivering the Anglo + workshops designed by the Anglo + coordinator, alongside planning and delivery of the high-quality activity and excursion programme. Delivering activities and full/half day excursions, whilst continuing to not be afraid of joining in and giving everything a go. This is a student support guide role ensuring that the students use English whilst learning new skills and fully enjoy their time in the UK.Duties will include:
Report to and liaise with the activity manager and Anglo + Co-Ordinator.
Set-up, supervise and encourage students to participate in all aspects of the programme.
Assist with arrivals and departures.
Exploit every opportunity and encourage students to speak English always during their course.
Show sensitivity to the group and individuals and create a positive learning environment.
Be committed to Anglo’s duty of care and the safeguarding of students always, also being enthusiastic and committed to their welfare and security along with the group leaders.
Prepare for and lead students on full-day and half-day excursions, lead tours where possible.
Read and respond to risk assessments for all activities on and off campus and check all equipment advising on its safe usage.
Extra duties may be asked to be shared out by the team, such as, supervising students during meals, lesson breaks and when in the halls of residence.
Be willing to help and assist in the event of an emergency.
Liaise with the Anglo + Co-Ordinator and Bournemouth head office to deliver the Anglo + programme
Be involved in all aspects of the Anglo + programme, and ensure they run smoothly, safely and efficiently
Report student absences or sickness at the beginning of each session.
Quickly respond to any feedback that arises because of a drop in/full length observation.
Make sure that students are receiving enough feedback on their work.
Attend ANGLO + meetings.
Notify the ANGLO + Coordinator of any persistent misbehaviour.
Work 6 days a week including weekends, with one day off during the week.
Present yourself well; being of smart appearance, appropriate to the role and using appropriate language
Essential (Please do not apply if you do not meet these requirements):
Over 20 years of age
Native level English speaker
Based and eligible to live and work in the UK
Able to attend an assessment day or second skype interview
Confident, enthusiastic and able to lead 10 - 17-year olds
Approachable, friendly and able to build rapport with young people
Possess strong communication and organisational skills
Able to use own initiative and work as part of a team
Flexible, creative and adaptableDesirable:
First aid qualification
Computer and IT literate
Experience of working with children / teenagers
Route planning experience
Enthusiasm for sightseeing
Relatable degree 1-3 years
