About the job
Our client an industry-leading inhaled airways disease-focused business with uniquely integrated formulation, device and development capabilities. They aim to be the leading formulation and device development experts reflected in strong partnerships and own specialist commercialisation in niche diseases.
They are now seeking a Pharmaceutical Product Development Team Leader to join their Nebuliser development team in Chippenham, Wiltshire.
Manage the day to day activities of staff, providing guidance and coaching.
Provide scientific leadership towards specific project objectives, undertake a hands-on role within a project (including practical work as may be required)
Monitoring and developing efficiency standards within the team and facilitating continuous improvement
Apply a high level of technical knowledge to guide team members on protocols for formulation development, development pharmaceutics, analytical development and validation, developing and defining lab scale manufacturing campaigns.
Manage team members through 1:1 coaching, performance reviews, support training & development needs and generating & reviewing team efficiency metrics.
Drive quality, productivity and efficiency standards.
Oversee planning and execution of day to day and week to week activities.
Scientific leadership for aspects of a project including experimental design and analysis
Lead problem solving activities using appropriate techniques and devise courses of action.
Ensure compliance to quality and health and safety requirements for areas of work and the work of reports.
Generation, review and approval of technical protocols and reports and other documentation.
Educated to at least degree level in a relevant area (Chemistry, Drug Delivery, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Science, etc.)
Proven experience in inhalation or liquid formulation development or nebuliser delivery systems.
Broad understanding of product development the pharmaceutical development industry and regulations including GMP, ICH Q8/9/10 & guidance for metered dose and dry powder inhalers.
Management experience preferable.
Ideally previous industry experience or relevant post-grad research (Formulation Scientist, Inhalation/Respiratory Scientist, Pharmaceutical Development Scientist, Drug Delivery Scientist, Development Technician, etc.)
