Would you like to be the Privacy Associate for an international law firm?
This organisation is the market leader for their business specialism. They are seeking a Privacy Associate to join their evolving in-house privacy team. This role can be based in any of the firms European offices and you shall be acting as the EMEA expert in Privacy and Data Protection.
The day and the life of the chosen professional..
Act as the EMEA regional lead for privacy and data protection related enquiries and escalations, both internal and external (client and regulatory);
Draft, implement and monitor policies, procedures and processes related to the firms privacy practices and program;
Provide legal advice and guidance to the business on the use of personal data for ongoing operations and new initiatives within the context of European privacy laws and regulations;
Collaborate with internal Business Application and Information Security teams on privacy matters related to the organisations IT applications and systems;
Review and negotiate contractual agreements and provisions related to data protection compliance;
Assist with the review of ongoing compliance of third party vendors as related to privacy and data protection and the processing of personal data on behalf of the organization;
Design and implement privacy related training and awareness materials for all levels of staff;
Assist with responding to client enquiries regarding their privacy practices;
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to conduct and review ongoing projects and business initiatives, including the development and use of Privacy Impact Assessments.
What they are seeking..
European qualified lawyer with significant experience working in a law firm and/or in-house legal department with privacy, data protection, and information security related experience.
Must be fluent in English; German and/or French is preferred.
Experience working within an international legal environment.
Ability to deliver clear, practical and pragmatic written and oral advice.
Ability to make risk-based commercial decisions.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of GDPR is preferred.
