About the job

The role of Senior Finance Analyst:

Your role has a strong stakeholder management element and you will support your Marketing Business Partners, becoming involved in decisions to promote the brand is a key part of the Marketing Strategy, and as such you will become an expert in this area, closely Business Partnering the team.

By forming close relationships with the team you will assist and guide their discussion of pounds or points issuance and redemption providing them with the key information to aid decision making, as well as challenging when needed.
The role also demands an ability for providing sound financial appraisals for BAU campaigns, with a close eye on cost control and delivering an effective ROI, feeding back and challenging as needed to ensure only sound investments are embarked upon. You will need to apply realistic assumptions and judgment when analyzing, but also when feeding back to your stakeholders.
You will be reviewing benefits of Commercial projects, as well as undertaking adhoc analysis for the Marketing Director, MLT or the Marketing Finance manager in relation to cost reduction or Transformational projects.

There will also be some element of needing to work with teams across the Group, where there is an impact on the scheme.
You will also be expert in understanding IAS 18 adjustment calculations, ensuring that Central Trading Finance (CTF) Business partners are kept abreast of all changes and impacts on Sales. You play a key role in supporting CTF at Quarter and Year ends for Statutory reporting, and therefore must be accurate and timely in your updates and submissions.
You will work closely with the wider finance team, as there is a high level of intercompany and associated accounting that now exists with the acquisition of new businesses.
The candidate in this role will be an expert in understanding the accounting schemes and requires an understanding of IFRS15 revenue recognition rules, working with Group Finance when needed.
As part of the core Marketing Finance team you will support your Head of Finance and Marketing Finance manager, advising on cost performance in your area. You also will be responsible for forecasting, communicating progress, financial benefits or outcomes pertinent to your area.
As with any key business partnering role, financial rigour is at the heart of what you do, and you will provide the necessary challenge to your Business partners, applying excellence to ensure the robustness of your figures. You will need to ensure that we remain compliant to all relevant Financial accounting standards and advise nonFinance colleagues when needed
As the face of Finance to your Business Partners, you will need to assist in the Budgeting process for your area, but also provide training and tools to the Marketing team to raise commercial awareness and improve decisionmaking, landing key messages aligned with the wider Business agenda.

How I will succeed:

Delivering timely, robust and accurate analysis, translating data into Insight, using financial and nonfinancial information when needed
Ensuring financial rigour is in in all pieces of work, ensuring challenge is provided when needed to maximise Sales, Profit and ROI for the Business
Supporting the Finance agenda, by landing key messages and providing tools to aid decision making

What I need to know:

A proven track record of financial control, but also the ability to develop and maintain such an environment
Be commercially astute

Technical Skills are a must to join our team:

CIMA/ACA/ACCA Qualified, with at least 2 years post Qualification
Strong Excel and numerical skills, with an aptitude for turning data into analysis and insight and being able to clearly articulate this through your communication
A sharp and agile mind, to quickly get to grips with the business model, thinking in a joined up, Group way in relation to the scheme we now own and run for the good of the Group

High levels of pace, energy and resilience
A selfstarter, and a strong team player that can work independently, spotting the areas to focus on and assisting in the decision making process
Must have a strong eye for detail and a passion for accuracy
