Aggora Ltd is a specialist innovator in the provision and delivery of catering equipment solutions to the food service industry. Aggora covers everything from initial design and installation through to planned maintenance and breakdown cover.
Aston University has joined forces with Aggora on this project to create and implement a novel IT platform and internal capability that will deliver new functionality and improved business intelligence to support business growth through increased sales from innovative services and improved administration systems.
You will need a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology or Mathematics at 2.1 level or above. You should have experience of database design and development using SQL, web application development, programming experience in Java or C#, knowledge of.NET and object-oriented software design skills. Experience in data warehousing, data analytics and data mining would also be advantageous but is not essential.
We are looking for confident and personable candidates with good inter-personal skills to work with Aggora staff, collaborators and clients. You should be able to articulate ideas and effectively interpret user requirements. You should also have excellent communication and presentation skills.
You should also have good commercial awareness and be mindful of the commercial drivers for success of the project.
As part of this project you will be able to develop skills in database design, data warehouse design, data analytics, web-based application development, agile software development practices and software architecture design.
The KTP Associate Development Programme will give you the management skills required to successfully deliver the project. Additionally you will have a generous personal development budget for “Industry standard” training such as Microsoft certification; and the opportunity to apply for membership of the British Computer Society. Alongside this you could achieve either an M.Phil or M.Res from Aston University.
You will be employed by Aston University but will be based at the company, Aggora Group, in Redditch.
