About the job
A Students Union based in Coventry have an exciting opportunity taking place at their Scarborough Campus where they are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and vibrant individual to develop volunteering opportunities.
You will be coordinating and promoting student volunteering engagement at their campus in Scarborough, working with CU Scarborough and the local community.
You will be identifying volunteering opportunities and activities and delivering events to promote volunteering and encourage participation from students. You will coordinate the recruitment, training and development of student project leaders. You will also be developing key relationships with students, staff, colleagues and local community organisations.
To carry out this role you will need experience of developing volunteering initiatives together with experience of working with community organisations. You will have a good grasp of key issues in higher education and volunteering trends. You will have excellent literacy, numeracy and computer skills, including use of all Microsoft applications. You will also be highly skilled in administrative duties with the ability to develop strong community links, and the ability to motivate and engage students and volunteers.
- Level 3 qualification in Communication/Literacy and Numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths)
- Experience of developing volunteering initiatives
- Experience of working with young people
- Experience in developing successful partnerships with a range of stakeholders
- Proficient at using all Microsoft Office applications
This post is working part-time 18 hours per week on a permanent basis. A flexible approach to working hours is required.
