A fantastic opportunity is available for a conscientious and self-motivated Warehouse Assistant to join an innovative construction supplies company offering goods delivery in a tight 90 minutes time frame. Based in Wandsworth, London, the successful Warehouse Assistant will earn a salary of £18,000 - £22,000 per annum, depending on experience.
The warehouse is in a modern building in a pleasant area of Wandsworth close to Wandsworth Town Station and local shops and amenities.
Our stock cycle can be as short as 36 hours so this is a dynamic operation that requires a dynamic and thoughtful individual.
The company values integrity and fairness. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to make their mark by overseeing warehouse operations - ensuring that the company meets its commercial demands. As a Warehouse Assistant your main duties will include but are not limited to:
Picking and packing customer orders to deliver the highest standard of presentation in the fastest possible time
Ensure that courier details are rigorously matched with the outgoing orders – this may include manual entry of tracking details between screens
Check in and put away of goods in thoroughly and neatly, in a timely manner ensuring effective uploads to our stock management system
Rotation of product throughout the warehouse to constantly maintain the highest efficiency of picking
Daily PI checks and Stock Taking on a regular basis, to ensure accuracy of inventory is maximal
Daily returns processing & collating data to report monthly communicating reason codes and other KPIs
Ensuring the warehouse remains organized and very tidy at all times
Product creation and upload into the order management system
Developing a thorough knowledge and awareness of products, visually monitoring stock levels and communicating any relevant stock information to the rest of the team
Audit and report on slow moving lines, sell throughs of core lines, negative stock and short life products and advise the buying team on missed opportunities
Maintaining all relevant paperwork in a very organized manner for accurate accounting of past, present and future deliveries
Processing any ad-hoc shipments
Loading & Unloading Vehicles for deliveries
Liaising with different teams within the business
To be considered for the Warehouse Assistant role you must be hungry to learn and capable of working within a fast-paced team. The company is particularly interested in speaking to applicants that have experience in a warehouse, stockroom or delivery environment. In addition the following key skills and experience are essential:
Plenty of logistics/warehouse experience, with proven experience in managing orders and stock
A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Reliable, with great time keeping
Highly organised, accurate and structured approach to work
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Great computer literacy skills, ideally in Warehouse software and Excel
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Appetite for career development as one of the first employees of the business
Full UK drivers license
Forklift training ticket would be an advantage
