Our client is a privately-owned Main Contract that has been established for over 30 years, has a current turnover of £30 Million and a 5-year plan to grow to £50 Million. Currently, there are 3 business units and they specialise in New Build and Refurbishment projects for Education, Healthcare, Residential and Public Buildings.

They predominantly work on projects in London and Essex and work on schemes ranging from £500,000 - £10 Million (Both Design & Build and Traditional.) and the business wants to continue developing its sustained growth by building long-term relationships with key clients by developing a strong team that prides itself on quality and delivery.

Senior Quantity Surveyor – North London

We are currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for the business and particularly for a new build residential scheme.

Project Location: North London

Duties will include but aren’t limited to:

  • Collating and integrating all cost data as quantity surveyor in project.

  • Understanding and demonstrating project life cycle cost requirements in day to day cost data collection.

  • Preparing master control sheets for various item with detailed specification, options of various specifications and method of measurement.

  • Understanding the clients’ brief, delivery strategy and working with the design, procurement and execution teams.

  • Preparing project specific cost plans including detailed and parametric estimation with list of assumption at each design stage.

  • Preparing project specific bill of quantities and generic bill of quantities.

  • Managing the procurement process, ensuring that all stages including, pre- qualification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively.

  • Monitoring, managing and checking bill of quantity (BoQ), pre-tender estimation, tender documentation, cost estimation, cost plan and contract package.

  • Preparing and proofing detailed specifications and estimating cost.

  • Taking a lead role in interfacing with clients, external and internal consultants at all project stages.

  • Adhering to all health and safety procedures and ensure teams are aware of expectation

The Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience

  • A degree of other relevant qualifications

  • Refurbishment Experience – Commercial, Residential, Education, healthcare etc.

  • Hands on experience of material take off and drawing measurements in AutoCAD and other various softwares.

  • Procurement experience

  • Knowledge of various methods of measurements including CPWD, IS, POMI, CESSM, NRM and the like and its usage and applications.

  • Knowledge of basic conditions of contract

  • Knowledge and managing of value engineering

  • Well-developed communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and relationship

  • Good Skills
