Part of Avantor, MESM provides a global service tailored to our customers needs whereby we will source medical equipment for their study and offer options for hire and purchase. We also manage and monitor the equipment through full life cycle management, giving our customers peace of mind while they carry out their work.

As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be primarily responsible for producing export documentation to support the distribution of medical equipment and ancillaries, to destinations all over the world. You will be incredibly organised, a great communicator and have a strong attention to detail. You will have a wide knowledge of export procedures and experience of exporting to complex countries.

What you’ll do on a day to day basis:

  • Provide timely & accurate carrier/freight shipping quotations & proforma invoices as required

  • Prepare & appropriately record & file, all export shipping documentation (including consular documents etc.) for EU & ROW shipping of parcels and pallets ensuring all Customs requirements are met.

  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders regarding shipments to expedite deliveries and meet OTIF targets.

  • Make transport bookings using the most cost effect method of transport.

  • Provide timely & accurate carrier/freight shipping quotations & proforma invoices as required. Calculate duties & taxes as applicable.

  • Liaise with Chamber of Commerce, Customs, Brokers and Carriers & Freight Forwarders to ensure accuracy of documentation and to expedite deliveries.

  • Update the system with shipping information and resolve any delays with Carriers or Customs – communicating effectively with the wider business as appropriate.

  • Manage shared mailboxes in line with requirements ensuring timely and accurate responses and ensuring the mailbox is accurately categorised and filed appropriately.

What you’ll need to be successful at Avantor:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable

  • Detailed understanding of Incoterms, Customs and Export Regulations and associated Compliance requirements.

  • Experience of booking shipments and liaising with Fast Parcel Operators and Freight Forwarders.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders.

  • Experience to intermediate level, in all Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel & Outlook and ability to quickly pick up inhouse systems.

  • The ability to work proactively and drive others to achieve results.
