We're recruiting for a Senior Case Handler to join the Lender Sales team in Bristol. Our Lender Sales deals with the sales of those properties that have been taken into possession. This role can be undertaken working from the office, home or a mixture of the two.

Job Description

Main Responsibilities

As a Senior Case Handler your day to day remit includes:

  • Prepare witness statement and instruct agents
  • Check proceedings issued correctly
  • Taking responsibility for running own caseload as driven by case management system (Solcase)
  • Experience in checking both freehold and leasehold titles and reporting issue to clients
  • Dealing with a complex / non-standard caseload
  • Phone calls (client, internal and 3rd party)
  • E-mails (client, internal and 3rd party)
  • Ensure regular communication with Team  Manager regarding work related issues or problems which should be reported immediately and escalated if necessary.
  • Suggesting to Team Managers improvements to the system and identifying problems
  • In the absence of the Team Managers, taking responsibility with the other Senior Case Handlers and Case Handlers for ensuring that the workflows are printed and actioned together with daily post.
  • Ensure billing is accurate and action unbilled disbursements accordingly
  • Supporting the Team Manager by accepting any delegated tasks
  • To demonstrate an ability to cope with changing levels of workloads.

The Ideal Candidate

  • To have at least 18 months relevant experience
  • Experience in checking both freehold and leasehold titles and reporting issue to clients
  • Experience at drafting documents
  • Experience at providing structured advice to a client on a legal or procedural issue
  • Confident at researching and interpreting cases/legislation and a competent user or Lexis and Westlaw
  • Experience of shared ownership (Homebuy schemes, Housing associations and shared ownership housing)
  • To demonstrate a natural empathy/affinity with Clients and a good telephone manner, with a clear diction.
  • To be able to type and be computer literate.
  • To have competent numeracy and spelling skills.
  • To be able to demonstrate proactivity and attention to detail.
  • To demonstrate organisational and time management skills.
  • To demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop in the role.
  • To demonstrate the ability to ask for assistance when required.
  • To demonstrate a willingness to help and assist all members of the team
  • To demonstrate an ability to cope with changing levels of workloads.
