Oaklea’s Children and Young People team seeks to promote young people’s personal and social development and enable them to have a voice, influence and place in their communities and society. We aim to offer support at every stage of a young person’s life, particularly those with additional needs, anxiety and depression, learning and/or physical disabilities or those disengaged.
Family Support Worker - About the Role:
We are looking to recruit three new staff members to support the growing team, this includes two employees to work on bespoke individual support with two families.
One new employee will support a 6 year old male with significant complex health needs. Working alongside parents Monday – Friday (term time) to assist with personal care/morning routine before school. The new employee would be expected to work alongside nursing staff on a Saturday.
Another individual will support a 14 year old female who is recovering from a recent long term stay in hospital.
Your role would include:
* Supporting young people in various settings bespoke to the family’s needs
* Supporting young people transitioning into adulthood
* Supporting young people to access and to be a part of their local communities
* Supporting young people with their personal development, goals and aspirations
The post will require flexibility as times of working will vary and will include afternoons and weekend support. Car driver is essential.

You do not need to have experience, but it is essential that you share our values. As long as you have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of those with a learning disability, we will support you with progression opportunities throughout your career with us.
An Enhanced DBS will be required for each successful candidate (Paid for by Oaklea, T&Cs apply)
