Graduate Environmental Scientist

Ward have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental team based at Ward, Griffon Road, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, DE7 4RF.

Working alongside the Head of Environment and Sustainability and the Environmental Officer you will play a key role in the department. Duties will include:

* Liaise with laboratories to ensure suitable testing is carried out

* Analysis of laboratory reports to advise the business on classification and legislative compliance

* Writing of clear and concise reports

* Client liaison

* Production of robust sampling plans

* Carrying out sampling of various materials

* Recording of requests for sampling and associated costs

* Recording of sampling results

* Reviewing and updating of processes, procedures and plans within the Environmental Management System

* General support the Environment and Sustainability Team

* Keeping up to date with relevant environmental and waste legislation

Essential Requirements

It is essential that you are a self-starter with excellent communication and time management skills. We are looking for someone with a degree in a related field plus a post-graduate qualification in a scientific discipline.

It is desirable that you have some relevant work experience.
