Our client is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for performing routine building tasks. Performance of building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g. carpentry; electrical, plumbing and all general maintenance tasks) perform other tasks as assigned or requested.

Essential:

  • Carry out PPM & Inspect buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions or any repair needed making notes and recommendations using a preestablished check sheet
  • Perform electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent lamps and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and speciality tools. Test and inspection if certificated
  • Perform plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, replacing drain hoses on washers installation of water heaters including electrical connection and similar devices, etc.)
  • Perform painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.)
  • Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways and other work areas
  • Order parts and maintain required documents
  • Perform other work related duties as assigned
  • Must be able to work flexible hours when required
  • 17th & 18th edition

Minimum Skills/Qualifications Required

  • Recognised trade qualifications including electrical and plumbing to City and Guilds as a minimum
  • Facilities maintenance background essential
  • All round multitasker
  • Ability to work on own initiative and or as part of a team
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Proactive and flexible approach to a wide variety of tasks
  • Ability to work on own initiative and or as part of a team
