  • Staffordshire University is seeking a self-motivated and customer focussed individual to provide internal legal support and expertise in the area of research and funding.  The ideal candidate would thrive in a challenging and busy working environment, will need to be flexible and have a positive approach to their work to meet changing demands, often at short notice.

  •  

  • You will be required to work with project managers and Financial Services on the drafting, review and negotiation of contracts for carrying out the charitable aims of the University.  Therefore strong analytical skills and a sound knowledge and understanding of contract structure, ideally evidenced by experience of reviewing and negotiating contracts in a research-based environment, are essential.  You will provide specialist support and advice to faculty staff relating to research contract issues such as intellectual property law and procedures, publications, confidentiality, indemnity and liability.  In addition to this, you will be required to keep excellent records, review procedures and communicate changes in the terms and conditions of the University’s major sponsors and any changes in the legal issues relating to funding, attention to detail is critical for this role.

  •  

  • A degree in a related subject is an essential requirement of the post preferably in the area of Law, or you should be working towards an appropriate business qualification.
