We are currently seeking a Multiskilled Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Technician to join our Maintenance team on our Royston site.The successful candidate will be responsible for performing mechanical and electrical engineering tasks to ensure the safe, compliant and efficient operation of all primary and auxiliary production equipment and utility support systems.
In addition to reactive and preventative maintenance tasks, the role will also include minor project work and assisting in additional maintenance duties where priorities require. Key responsibilities
Provide a skilled execution of Planned, Reactive & Corrective Electrical and Mechanical maintenance activities to ensure the ongoing reliability of equipment across the plant. Deliver effective problem solving and electrical/mechanical fault diagnosis skills, adhering to identified work priorities to ensure that customers and stakeholders are supported in their daily operational needs. Conduct inspections, testing, calibration, adjustments and monitoring tasks as required to maintain efficient plant and buildin equipment reliability. Responsible for updating the CMMS with work progress and demanding spares as required for work tasks and/or to maintain critical stock levels. Cooperate and collaborate with other team members to continually drive our proactive engineering programme, plus participate in failure investigations and identifies reliability issues within the plant. Provide support to the project team at initial design stages to offer advice on the correct selection of plant and equipment to ensure improved levels of future plant reliability and maintainability. Interpret technical drawings for planning, executing and specifying material to support job duties. Are you the ideal candidate?
You will have:
Completed a recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship/relevant vocational training Completed a recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification BTEC ONC/HNC, C&G Engineering Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent Completed a City & Guilds Electrical Installation Parts One and Two or equivalent Completed City & Guilds IEE Wiring Regulations 18th edition (BS7671) Experience of working with ATEX equipment (CompEx Trained) Experience in a largescale manufacturing/chemical industry within a maintenance function would be advantageous but not essential Exposure to a LEAN approach to manufacturing is desirable Chemical/COSHH awareness Highly organised and disciplined Strong attention to detail and selfmotivation
You will be required to work night shifts only: Monday to Wednesday 19:00 pm to 7:00 am and Thursday 19:00 pm to 01:00 am
Due to the nature of this role applicants must be nonsmokers and have been free from nicotine products for at least three months.
