Head of Software Development

We are looking for a new dynamic Head of Development to lead our developers and test team to deliver excellent and intuitive software.
The role will involve owning and evolving our development life cycle, from release/project sign off, to delivery to the end customer. Our projects can include a mixture of bespoke client requests and feature product development.
Key Responsibilities/Duties Manage and improve the development and test processes. Line manager for development and test teams. (overseeing yearly reviews, holiday requests etc…) Ensure our software releases are quality and robust Oversea the implementation of automated testing. Manage the software development roadmap with input from the analysts and client managers, to deliver clients requests and product feature development. Work with client managers to advise on delivery of software releases. Sit on the company management team and report monthly to the board. Sit on the product team and give input on the direction of the product.
Essential Skills/Experience Successful track record of delivering software projects. Ability to lead, motivate and inspire. Experience working with business software applications. A commitment to learning and supporting our products and solutions. Good technical knowledge of Microsoft web stack development.
Desirable Skills/Experience Experience working within an Agile team and of Agile methodologies. Experience with best practice software engineering from agile methods to continuous integration and deployment Experience in using the Atlassian software development and collaboration tools. Experience using Dev Ops tooling/processes Experience in cloud-based SaaS applications. Experience integrating with third party applications. Test Driven Development
